The Kitchen Table
Why We Build SEO Into the Code, Not Bolt It On (FinnPont Case Study)

Most search engine optimisation (SEO) advice stops at plugins and keywords. But a lot of what holds a site back is technical, and fixing it properly takes a technical SEO developer working in the codebase, not another plugin. FinnPont is a clear example.
The situation
FinnPont wanted stronger digital visibility, but the site had slow load speeds, incomplete metadata, and weak technical SEO foundations holding back its search performance.
What we did
- Ran a full technical SEO audit to find what was actually hurting visibility.
- Optimised PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals.
- Implemented structured data for rich-result eligibility.
- Corrected metadata and keyword targeting, and fixed sitemap and crawlability issues.
Crucially, this was done in the codebase, not through bolt-on plugins, so the improvements are clean, lasting, and add no new dependencies.
The result
Even with a partial rollout, the site gained faster load performance, improved search rankings, and better user-engagement metrics.
The lesson
Plugins can mask symptoms; technical SEO built into the code fixes causes. Speed, structured data, and crawlability live at the code level, and that's where durable gains come from. See our SEO optimisation service, or read more about the FinnPont project.
